I build websites and software, and run Red Clover Software. My work includes WordPress development, web applications, and systems integrations. I also enjoy working on older hardware and homebrew software.
WordPress sites, custom themes and plugins, and web applications using PHP, Node.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Application development, C++, and integrations between systems, including APIs and single sign-on.
Designing interfaces and planning how the parts of an application fit together, from the website to its supporting services.
Working with clients to understand their needs, plan the project, keep track of progress, and document the software.
I love solving problems. What I'm proudest of is my persistence and my ability to find constructive paths forward in difficult situations. I'm at a point in my life where I can commit significant blocks of time to projects when needed, while also respecting the different circumstances and working rhythms of the people I collaborate with. I do my best work in client facing roles managing expectations, anticipating scope concerns early, and finding collaborative solutions that keep projects on track. Whether you need a developer, a creative thinker, or a project manager in a given moment, I'm happy to wear whichever hat the work calls for. I'm also comfortable working across time zones.

My recent work includes tools for sysadmins and WordPress teams, a new business website, and a homebrew media player for the PSP.
Build custom web applications and redesign websites. Handle project scoping, technical planning, development, and client communication, with designer subcontractors where needed. Clients include Talk Shop Media and Orion Construction.
Configured integrations for about 25 enterprise clients. Worked with client technical teams on APIs, SAML, OAuth, and single sign-on, developed custom features in C#, and managed delivery timelines.
Built brochure websites for small businesses, starting an independent web development practice.
Built backend systems for President’s Choice properties, including pcinsurance.ca and themobileshop.ca. Developed Azure infrastructure and Travis CI workflows, with failover strategies to reduce downtime. Progressed from CMS Specialist to Principal Backend Developer.
